Beat the Reds
Is anyone else as upset with the Korean team as I am? Maybe you're not paying attention, but here are the ways they suck:
2002 - In a first round draw with the US on their own soil, the Korean team stages an elaborate celebration after their only goal, re-creating the short track speed skating matchup between Apollo Anton Ohno of the US and the cheatin' Korean Kim Dong-Sung by lining up and miming a skate pattern only to have the scorer of the goal wave his hands like a pansy from the second position in line. Apollo threw his hands up in a much cleaner way to avoid a collision several months earlier in the 1500m and Kim Dong-Sung had been disqualified for impeding. In the 1000m, Li Jiajun raced up to Apollo's right flank approaching the final turn, throwing an elbow into the pack in a desperate fury as he fell out of the race. Fellow Korean Ahn Hyn-Soo, who was in second, was hit by the falling Jiajun and fell to the ground . . . making sure to kick his legs out and grab Apollo's leg and take him down, ensuring that his American rival could not win (Apollo stood up and fell over the line for a silver).
When Korea plays, the game is spoiled. Look at all the bad calls during the 2002 World Cup linked to Korea in the video above. Then check out 2006.
2006 - Korea's sickening home field advantage apparently applies to Europe as well. A header by Patrick Viera in the 30th minute clearly crosses the line as Korea's goalie was a step back under the net, but the shot is somwhow ruled a save and the game ended up tied at 1-1. France is headed to an unsure future after a brilliant performace during which Zinidane Zidan, France's living World Cup legend, was issued a yellow card. It is is his second yellow in as many games which means he must sit out the next one. He walks off the field for what could be the last time in his career, and the sorrowfull salute from the French fans is drowned out my the mindless din of the Korean fans. Not the way for him to go.
Luckily for all of you, Fance beat Togo and the Suiss beat the Koreans to prevent the Reds from advancing, giving the French new life and giving Zidane at least one more turn on the pitch.
