When Isn't A Raven Like A Writing Desk?

It has recently occurred to me that human existence hinges on the presence of workstation tables at which one can sit and do. Things.

What's with all the Desks?

TV newscasters - from Jon Stewart to Sportscenter to Ron Burgundy - live and feed off the Desk. Coffee shops have Desks for computers. Desks are being built in to office buildings as both functional furniture and structural elements of the architecture - some desks are literally holding up entire companies. The Desk even infiltrated the Rule of B in homes: everyone needs a Bed, Bookcase, Bathroom, Bunker for clothes (dresser) and a Desk.

The better the Desk, the more powerful the person. Wealth will soon transfer from stocks and bonds and benjamins to Desks. Even Bond and Benjamin had desks at which they worked.

And that word is so bizarre. Desk. Look at the letters, feel the way they play with each-other. Desk. DESK.

It won't go away, either. None can foresee the dusk of the Desk.
