Three Years

In case you know the tradition, and in case you don't hear it from anyone else:

Happy Valentine's Day.

I can't think of a better time - the anniversary of this blog - to give a "State of the Blog" blog (blog). So here it is.

One of my 8 New Years resolutions is to increase an Internet presence: 10 blog posts, 5 Diggs and 1 YouTube upload every month. January's line: 4/10, 2/5, 0/1. February so far: 1/10, 3/5, 0/1. Facebook's a major culprit in the decline in blogging - I tell stories through photo albums - and so is un-finished posts (although I recently learned that J.R.R. Tolkien was notorious for starting things and not finishing them). I've got a nice one started that I'll post soon, and the subject is the perfect one to break the trend of unfinished ideas: Barack Obama.

I'd say I'm doing a fair job on the Internet thing. It's already an increased presence. The other seven ratings (resolutions from books to film to fitness to finance) are: Fair (and improving), Great, Fair (but fading fast), Poor, Poor (but excusable), Poor, and "Not Yet."

At any rate, the posts are few, and the readership is probably pretty scant, but hopefully I'll be compelled to post more stories, as when I started this blog I posted more often and I was probably a better person then.

I'm not sure what this blog is meant to be, but I'd like to think it's a storyteller. The very emo photo that started this (which I found on a LiveJournal picture generator) is a minor divergence from that, but Valentine's is Valentine's. You know what else is a very "blog" thing to do? Abruptly end a post.
